Topic: DEI Strategy for the Future of Talent

    About the Speaker: Carol Horner

Carol is the Founder of Synchronicity, Inc. She works with teams, leaders, and organizations seeking to grow and make a productive and positive impact. Carol’s strengths lie in her ability to custom-design and implement learning and organization development programs in leadership development, coaching, team development, communication, and change management. She integrates diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging learning into all her consulting and talent development work.

Carol created the Spiral of Accountability™ that takes the complex dynamic of human self-talk and interactions and simplifies it into a visual representation that allows people to identify, name, and understand what is happening with them and the people around them. It then shows a pathway toward improving their reactions. She released the book The Spiral of Accountability in April 2024.

Carol is a Wiley Authorized Partner and Certified Professional in Everything DiSC®, Five Behaviors®, and PXTSelect®. She holds a certificate in Advanced Consulting Skills from Morningstar Ventures and one in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in the Workplace from the University of South Florida.

Boredom, disengagement, wasted time – sound familiar? Unfortunately, these words have become synonymous with most of our meetings. But it doesn't have to be this way! Imagine a meeting landscape where every participant is engaged, every voice is empowered, and every outcome is enabled. Jeff Shannon, master facilitator and author of "Lead Engaging Meetings", will unveil a transformative approach to meetings that's both compelling and actionable.

    Session Highlights:

    1) Facilitator as the Catalyst: Dive into the essential role and mindset of the facilitator – not as just a leader, but as a guide who genuinely engages, empowers, and enables participants.

    2) Foundation First: Extracting the core principles from "Lead Engaging Meetings", you'll grasp universal truths that can be applied to every meeting, regardless of its size, scope, or objective.

    3) From Drab to Dynamic: Discover 5 quick, easy-to-implement shifts in your meeting approach that promise profound improvements. These aren't just theories, but practical changes backed by real-world application.

    4) Troubleshoot Together: A unique opportunity to voice your meeting-related challenges. Get insights and suggestions tailored to your specific dilemmas.

    5) Extra Mile Engagement: Beyond the session, I'll be available for individual queries, concerns, or deeper dives into the world of engaging meetings.

Workplace conflict is inevitable. And while it’s tempting to avoid these uncomfortable situations altogether, there is a much more effective solution. Conflict doesn’t need to be destructive to workplace performance or relationships. In fact, healthy conflict can actually be productive and even encouraged. Productive conflict can help build stronger relationships, teams, and performance. Teams who engage in productive conflict rely heavily on trust and are better able to voice their opinions and concerns without fear, anxiety, or stress. Employees who participate in productive conflict are more likely to commit to change, hold themselves and others accountable to the goals of the team and company, and get results. This session will help learners effectively respond to the uncomfortable and inevitable challenges of workplace conflict. This program is designed to help curb destructive behaviors so that conflict can become productive, improving workplace relationships and business results.

    Objectives:

    1. Identify their own tendencies to engage or restrain during conflict and make the appropriate correction.
    2. Identify and employ strategies to move away from destructive behaviors.
    3. Encourage and adopt constructive behaviors in conflict.
    4. Use proven phrases and questions to encourage healthy conflict
